Founders Story

The GJOW Foundation is a Non-Governmental organization founded by Kossiwa Fanlome in 2018. She chose the orphans and the widows. It is because when she was young about 14 years old, she proclaimed that she wishes one day she will have an Orphan’s house where she can have an opportunity to help the unfortunate with all her talents.

After 27 years, on December 20th, 2017 at 10 Am, when she was practicing meditation, on Deuteronomy 10:8, suddenly her eyes were full of tears and she heard a voice telling her to help the orphans and widows. From that date she and the foundation have got the mission.

The mission behind the foundation is to teach, coach, counsel and mentor poverty-stricken children and widows. The mission is the best reflection of one of the quotes of Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. To make a difference in other lives, nothing can be more efficient than education. As Marian Wright Edelman said, “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.”

To realize her goals, every single day, she tries her best to get this project to be done as soon as possible for the glory of the Lord.
